NITYA

I come from the land of simple yet surreal beauty, Kashmir. Having borne the early pain of

getting torn away from motherland, I have always yearned to keep myself connected to Kashmir

some way or the other. So, when I decided to name my firm as Poshte’ (pu-shit,पोषत – a

beautiful Kashmiri word, used as an expression of congratulations or greeting abundance or

wishing best to someone), it felt very special as having this name constantly connected me to

my roots.

An Engineer by education, a coder by profession, happily married to an Army man, hands-on

mother to two wonderful kids, my plate was always full. But something felt a miss. As an Army

wife, I got the opportunity to closely experience the rich cultural diversity of India as I travelled

through the length and breadth of this country. My personal curiosity took me to the doors of

local artisans, craftsmen, and I got introduced to their unique, intricate art forms. Along with that

I also saw their aspirations and their pains. To help them, I built a network of artists, improvised

their art forms and started promoting their work amongst my close contacts. It only helped that I

had a good artistic eye and whosoever came in contact with my designs and products,

thoroughly appreciated them and nudged me to go for the bigger platforms. And this is how I

started Poshte’ with the support of Juhi.

I am passionate about helping individuals, families and businesses reach their financial goals

and take control of their financial future. In addition to my professional career, I have always

been fascinated with the intricate craftsmanship and versatility of Indian handicrafts . I am committed to

promoting and preserving the rich heritage of Indian handicrafts and want to make a difference

in the lives of these artisans by creating a global marketplace for their products. I firmly believe

that, with the right amount of dedication and commitment, Indian Handicrafts can be a source of

revenue for the artisans and for the country’s economy.
